The Series 580 GC is complete with four Swagelok

®

ﬁ ttings for 1/8” o.d. columns. (Unless

otherwise speciﬁ ed)

The oven is designed to accept twenty (20) feet of 1/4” column tubing. Correspondingly longer
lengths of 1/8” tubing can be wound on a mandrel of 4” o.d. (a standard 1 lb. coﬀ ee can is about
4” in diameter). This technique SHOULD NOT BE USED with 1/4” tubing. Figure 4-2 illustrates
column “B”. An appropriate column or bypass must be installed in both “A” and “B” sides.
