7.2 Adjusting Procedure
Manual Balancing
Preparation
In order to adjust the KONSTANTER, you’ll need a highly
accurate measuring instrument whose resolution is roughly
one class better than that of the KONSTANTER (see also
Technical Data).
Connecting the Measuring Instrument for Output Voltage Adjustment
The KONSTANTER’s
power output
must be
deactivated
(
OUTPUT
OFF
).
Connect the
measuring instrument
directly (
parallel
) to the
power
output
of the KONSTANTER. Adjustment accuracy can be
further increased by additionally connecting the sensing leads.
Figure 7.2 a Connection Schematic for Output Voltage Adjustment
Switch the measuring instrument on, and select the correct
voltage range for the measurement. The upper range limit must
be at least as great as nominal voltage of the KONSTANTER.
Select the voltage adjusting functions and then
activate
the
KONSTANTER’s
power output
(
OUTPUT ON
).
Connecting the Measuring Instrument for Output Current Adjustment
The KONSTANTER’s
power output
must be
deactivated
(
OUTPUT
OFF
).
Observe the measuring instrument’s maximum current measuring range.
If the KONSTANTER’s
maximum output current value
is
less
than
the measuring instrument’s
maximum current measuring range
,
the measuring instrument can be connected
in series
directly to
the
power output
.
If the
maximum output current value
is
greater
than the measuring
instrument’s
maximum current measuring range
, the measuring
instrument must be connected to the KONSTANTER’s power
output via a properly dimensioned
shunt resistor
. Adjustment
accuracy can be further increased by additionally connecting
the sensing leads.
Figure 7.2 b Connection Schematic for Output Current Adjustment
Switch the measuring instrument on, and select the correct
current range for the measurement. The upper range limit must
be at least as great as nominal current of the KONSTANTER.
Select the current adjusting functions and then activate the
KONSTANTER (
OUTPUT ON
).
