STABILITRAK

®

 SYSTEM

This system selectively applies any 
one of the brakes to help maintain 
directional control in difficult driv-
ing conditions.

When the system senses that there 
is a discrepancy between the 
intended path and the direction 
the vehicle is travelling, it selec-
tively applies the brakes to help 
steer the vehicle.

The system comes on automatical-
ly when you start the engine.

You may feel or hear the system 
working, but this is normal.

You should always leave the 
system on. However you can turn 
Stabilitrak off with the traction 
control button.

Press and hold the traction control 
button for 5 seconds.

The Traction Control System will 
also be turned off.

When the system is turned off, the 
traction control system warning 
light will turn on and 

STAB SYS 

OFF

 (stability system off) will 

appear in the Driver Information 
Centre display.

See "Driver Information Centre 
Messages" earlier in this section for 
more information.

When this message is displayed, 
the system is not operational and 
you should adjust your driving 
accordingly.

Press the button again to turn the 
system back on.

SERVICE STAB SYS

 (service stabil-

ity system) will appear on the Driv-
er Information Centre if your 
stability enhancement system is 
malfunctioning. See "Driver Infor-
mation Centre Messages" earlier in 
this section for more information.
