Starting and Operating Instructions

NOTICE

Do not shift the transmission 
into gear until the transfer case 
indicator light stops flashing.

Otherwise, the transfer case 
could be damaged.

• To shift into or out of the Four-

Wheel Low Lock setting, the 
ignition must be on, the vehi-
cle must be stopped or moving 
less than 5 km/h (3 mph) (pref-
erably moving between 1 and 
3 km/h) (1 and 2 mph) and the 
transmission must be in 

N

 

(Neutral). Press and release the 
desired transfer case button.

If your vehicle has a manual 
transmission, push the clutch 
pedal all the way to the floor 
while you press the button or 
the shift will not be completed.

The indicator light will flash 
while you are shifting and then 
remain illuminated when the 
shift is completed.

Wait for the indicator light to 
stay on solid before shifting 
your transmission into gear.

There may be a slight engage-
ment noise or bump when 
shifting. This is normal.

If you try to shift into or out of 
the Four-Wheel Low Lock set-
ting when the vehicle is in gear 
and/or moving, the indicator 
light will flash for 15 seconds 
and not complete the shift until 
the vehicle is moving less than 
5 km/h (3 mph) and the trans-
mission is in 

N

 (Neutral).

If the system is unable to com-
plete the shift within the 15 
seconds, it will return to the 
last chosen setting.
