Check the fluid only when the 
engine is off, the vehicle is parked 
on a level surface and the transmis-
sion is cool enough for you to 
place your fingers on the transmis-
sion case.

1. Remove the filler plug.

2. Add fluid, if needed, to bring 

the level up to the bottom of 
the filler plug hole.

3. Re-install the filler plug.

See the "Recommended Fluids and 
Lubricants" chart later in this 
section to determine what kind of 
fluid to use.

Hydraulic Clutch Fluid 
(Manual Transmission)

The clutch linkage in your vehicle 
is self-adjusting.

It is not necessary to regularly 
check the clutch fluid unless you 
suspect there is a leak in the 
system.

Adding fluid will not correct a leak.
