3.2.4 Load chain
The load chain should be periodically checked for abrasion. The check is based on three measurements: see permissible wear values
(table 3-4 and table 3-5) and measuring points (figure 3-2).
The chain should be replaced when the measurements no longer comply with those defined in the table. The chain wheel and
chain guidance should be checked for wear at the same time and, where necessary, be replaced. Only use original chains. The
chain links should not be welded.
The new chain is installed in accordance with chapter 2.2.3.
For ease of installation, the old chain and new chain can be connected by a piece of flexible wire.
