1.

Check that the fan and motor sheaves are in axial alignment; adjust sheaves as required.

NOTE
Shafts are parallel in both the vertical and horizontal planes.

Check that the fan motor sheaves are in radial alignment; adjust sheaves as required:

• When sheaves are of equal width, align the sheaves with a straight-edge (inset A).

• When sheaves are of unequal width, align the center of the sheaves (inset B).

Verify that sheaves have no noticeable eccentricity.

4.

If adjustments were made, check belts for proper tension.

NOTE
Belts that are either too loose or too tight cause vibration and excessive wear. (see “Adjust belt tension”
(page 38), as applicable).

5.

After all adjustments have been completed, check the complete assembly for smoothness of operation.
