Connecting the Modem to a Telephone Line

Before you can use the modem, you must connect it to a standard
voice-grade telephone line.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Disable Call Waiting before you
connect through the modem. Call Waiting interrupts
data transmission.

NOTE: If you use a storage device such as a CD-
ROM drive or HDD connected to a 16-bit PC card,
modem speed might be slow or communication
might be interrupted.

1.

Plug one end of a standard RJ-11 telephone cable into the

modem port.

2.

Plug the other end of the RJ-11 telephone cable into the

modular  jack of a standard voice-grade telephone line.

NOTE: The plug may be different in your country.
