Periodic maintenance
Consumable items
Check the main lid seal and inner lid seals
weekly, clean or replace as necessary.
To prevent microbial growth, remove and
replenish the chamber reservoir water
periodically.
Planned maintenance & servicing
Whilst every effort is made to design and
manufacture evaporation systems to the
highest possible standard, there will be some
degree of degradation due to wear and
ageing of parts such as seals and bearings
within the evaporator, condenser and pump.
The extent of wear and ageing depends on
the use of the system, the severity of
temperature cycling and the nature of the
solvents used. In addition, some solvents
may eventually cause pin-hole corrosion in
the connecting tubes, resulting in a decline in
performance.
In order to maintain peak performance and
avoid costly and unscheduled down-time,
Genevac strongly recommend implementing
a schedule of planned maintenance.
Changing parts in the field is complex and
requires a high level of skill. Genevac offers
a range of preventive maintenance, service
and breakdown contracts designed to keep
the equipment in good working order.
The following parts are consumable items
and can be replaced by the user:
Outer lid seal
Inner lid seal
Inner lid feed seal
Anti-overfill tube
Rotary joint seals (including inner and
outer PTFE liners)
Feed hoses
Seals for evaporation vessel pouring
spout
Waste solvent container
Exhaust and waste solvent hoses.
Part numbers and instructions for replacing
consumable items can be found on the
following pages.
