Telligence Patient-Staff Communication System Operation Manual 

•  A cord pull nurse call row appears on staff consoles and unit 

annunciators. 

•  Associated dome lights illuminate. 

Preventing cord pull nurse calls 

To prevent a cord pull call from being placed, do the following: 

1.  Press the Cancel button within five seconds of cord removal. 

• 

The Cancel light extinguishes. 

• 

The Call (or Equip) light starts fast flashing, indicating that a 
cord is out. No nurse call row appears on staff consoles and 
annunciators, and no dome lights turn on. 

Canceling calls placed from cord pulls 

To cancel a cord pull nurse call: 

1. 

Press the Cancel button. 

• 

The cord pull nurse call row disappears from staff consoles 
and annunciators. 

• 

Dome lights extinguish. 

• 

The Call (or Equip) light starts fast flashing, indicating that a 
cord is out. 

Note: 

Pressing Cancel after a bed, Smart Pillow Speaker, or 

call/auxiliary cord has been removed clears the nurse call, until the 
device is reinserted and removed again. 

Clearing the cord pull alarm 

To stop the light flashing due to cord removal: 

1. 

Plug a cord into the station jack. 

Both the Cancel light and the Call (or Equip) light flash for a few 
seconds, then extinguish. 

If you need to program the auxiliary input jack, see "Connecting 
call cords and auxiliary medical devices" on page 79. 

Miscellaneous patient stations 

Of the many peripheral Telligence stations that can be located in 
patient rooms, only a few are intended for patient use. Call cord 
stations may be present in the patient room, or may be located in 
treatment rooms, post-surgical recovery rooms, etc. Lavatory 
stations are typically present in both patient bathrooms and facility 
bathrooms. 

This section describes the operation of the simpler stations that are 
often used by patients themselves. For information on peripheral
