DIAGNOSTICS AND CONTROL
Configuration, control and diagnostics of the master station is per-
formed by connecting a Windows PC running a terminal program or
other GE MDS diagnostics software to a diagnostic port on the rear of
the unit (
Figure 27
). If a PC is not available, you can perform many of
the same functions using the front panel interface, described in
Section 6.4,
Configuration and Programming using the Front Panel,
beginning on Page 60
.

This section explains how to connect a PC to the master station, and
describes the commands you can use for programming and diagnostics.
6.1 PC Connection
1. Set Jumper J15 (on the vertical Interface Board) to “PC.” This
removes 14 V from Pin 6 of the
