Fitting a 50 column onto the AxiChrom foot
AxiChrom 50 column is delivered with an AxiChrom foot [123-1]. Place it in the foot on
an even and level foundation and tighten the screws [123-2].
Mechanical locking
To maintain axial compression between runs or for storage, mechanical locking equip-
ment may be ordered as separate accessory (see Ordering information). The locking
equipment allows the position of the adapter to be locked without the need for hydraulic
pressure.
CAUTION
High pressure. Never move the adapter in a column while mechan-
ical locking equipment is fitted. Remove the mechanical locking
equipment first.
Fitting the mechanical locking equipment
Use of the mechanical locking equipment assumes that the bed has been packed by
hydraulic axial compression using one of the procedures described in Chapter 4. To use
the mechanical locking equipment:
