Servicing the plastic bottom bed
support
This procedure assumes that the top plate and adapter have been removed from the
column (see Removing the top plate and adapter, on page 49).
Disassembling the plastic bottom bed support

If the column is used together with the pivot stand (standard for 70 and 100 columns,
accessory for 50 column), invert the column in the stand (see Using the pivot stand,
on page 38). For AxiChrom 50 column in the foot [123-1], unscrew the bolts [123-2]
and lift the column out of the AxiChrom foot and place the column lying down on
the flanges.

Remove the bottom plate assembly [C] from the column:
a
Unscrew the six bolts [801] from their holes.

There are three additional threaded holes on the bottom plate assembly. Use
three of the removed bolts [801] and insert them into these three holes.

Gently screw in each bolt a little at a time to jack the bottom plate assembly [C]
until it slides out from the bottom flange (805).

Remove the snap ring [421b] and the bed support [302] from the distributor [404]
(see Figure 6.11). Discard both the snap ring and the bed support. For columns 50
and 70, remove and discard the support net [422b] as well.

Remove and discard the O-ring [606] on the distributor.

Use an Allen key to remove the bolts [403] on the bottom plate [502].

Remove the distributor and rinse with water. Inspect it for signs of damage. If neces-
sary replace the entire distributor.
