Configuring your onboard RAID solutions

Configuring your onboard RAID solutions

Your server comes equipped with an onboard chipset for SATA RAID and SCSI RAID
solutions, which support RAID levels 0 (striping) and 1 (mirroring). The onboard RAID
solutions can be enabled in the BIOS (SATA -

and SCSI -

) and configured

by launching the appropriate RAID BIOS console during the boot process.

Configuring the onboard SATA RAID solution

To launch the SATA RAID BIOS console:

Restart your server.

Press

F2

when the Gateway logo screen appears during startup. The BIOS Setup utility

opens.

From the

Main

BIOS menu, select the

Advanced

menu.

Select the

IDE Configuration

sub-menu.

For the

Configure S-ATA as RAID

option, click

Enabled

.

6

Exit the BIOS Setup utility.

Restart your server.

During the boot process you will see the following message:

Press <Ctrl>-<E> for BIOS Console

Press and hold the

C

key, then press the

E

key. The RAID BIOS console will open.
