NOTICE
Filter Element Life
– Filter element life varies on the conditions of the unit’s location.
1.
Visually inspect the element. If there is any sign of a rupture, cracks or holes, in the filter element,
replace immediately. Inspection can be aided by shining a bright light through the element to see if it
is compromised. If the filter is intact and there are no air filter warnings or service due indicators,
reinstall the filter element.
2.
Pressure drop through a new filter element should be no less than one (1) inch (25 mm) of water
column with the compressor running at full load. Any pressure drop lower than this would indicate a
rupture or crack in the filter element.
Inlet Tube
- Inspect the inlet tube for dirt accumulation each time the filter is serviced. Clean the tube when
required by ramming a clean dry cloth through the tube. Wipe the inside of the filter body to remove any dirt
falling from the inlet tube before reinstalling the element.
Causes of short element life include: severe dust conditions, infrequent servicing, improper cleaning, or
contamination by oil or chemical fumes.
Never operate the unit without the element. Never use elements that are
damaged, ruptured or wet. Never use gaskets that won't seal. Keep spare
elements and gaskets on hand to reduce downtime. Store elements in a protected
area free from damage, dirt and moisture. Handle all parts with care.
Do not oil this element. Do not wash as cleaning may damage the element.
