2.6.
How to collect diagnostic information
When a problem occurs in the system, the diagnostic information is required for
the investigating of the problem. It is necessary to collect appropriate diagnostic
information. You should report your issue with the diagnostic information when
you open a case.
show tech-support
command collects the information you need.
#show tech-support
This command displays the result on the terminal screen. As an alternative, you
can output the result in a file, and retrieve it out of the switch with the
copy
command.
#show tech-support file

2.7.
POST Control
Power On Self-Test (POST) runs during system boot in order to check the health
status of the system. In some case, you may feel that POST takes long time to
complete in the system initialization procedure. If you want to reduce booting time,
if you are using console, you can type CTRL-C to skip the current test item or you
can type CTRL-X to skip the current and all following test items.
If you want to skip some of the test items in POST, use following operations. Then
the specified items will not be tested in the next boot.
The POST test items are shown in the table below.
