IPv6 Routing Support
In addition to the above IPv6 routing functios, this product supports the following
IPv6 routing function.
Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP)
-
Neighbor advertisement and solicitation
-
Duplicate address detection
-
Unreachability detection
-
Router advertisement and solicitation
Stateless autoconfiguration of end nodes
EUI-64 Interface ID and manual setting Interface ID
Ethernet interface type
IPv6 prefix list, which specify the IPv6 prefix range, and if an IP address matches
this, the permit or deny status can be applied. This prefix list is used to configure
the routing policy to use for filtering and managing routing update
transmissions between BGP peers.
Manual configuration of the IPv6 neighbor of the service port, network ports,
and interfaces on the routing/host.
Mitigation of DoS effect caused by copying IPv6 packets to CPU for neighbor
resolution (RFC 6583).
-
The setting of the rate limit value, which is the number of IPv6 packets can
be received by the CPU per second.
Configuration change to enable or disable the generation of IPv6 redirect packet
to the source node.
A negative IPv6 neighbor entry that resolves CPU churn problems caused by
consecutive CPU bound IPv6 data communications due to unreachability of the
data destination host or next hop.
Configurable options that allow you to send router advertisements to the IPv6
routing interface with (0) not setting the current hop limit value. This
configuration tells the host on that link to ignore the hop limit from this router.
Dynamic update of dynamic IPv6 neighbor entries. Details of the
implementation are as follows:
-
If a neighbor entry is deleted by the STALE neighbor entry timeout (1200
seconds), either of the following two actions will be executed.
•
If dynamic update is enabled, the neighbor will be retried for name
resolution without checking the hardware usage hit bit. The
INCOMPLETE entry is created first, it changes to REACHABLE if the retry
is successful, and it changes to FAILED if the retry fails.
•
If dynamic update is disabled, the neighbor will be retried only if the
hardware usage hit bit is set. If the hit bit is set, the routing function
