For the privileged access to the switch, technical staff may ask you the
administrator password of the switch. Please make sure that you know the valid
password to login as administrator.
File transport server
File transport service is required for some maintenance tasks such as configuration
backup/restoration, and firmware upgrade. If you perform these tasks by yourself,
you need to prepare for a server with FTP, TFTP or other supported file transport
service. Some technical support may have such file transport service in his or her
maintenance terminal PC.

How to Replace the Switch (FRU:
Field-Replaceable Unit
※
)
※
Maintenance procedures of Field-Replaceable Unit can only be performed by
Fujitsu service personnel or Fujitsu trained technical personnel. Please be aware
that, if the system is illegally interfered, the warranty will be invalid and the
manufacturer’s responsibility will exempted.
In the following explanation, it is assumed that a terminal PC (referred to as
‘FST-S’) is used, which has a file transfer service, and stores configuration files and
necessary firmware images, and so on.
Main unit maintenance parts include FAN Unit and Power Unit. When
replacing the main unit, please replace the FAN unit and the power supply
unit together.
It is principle that, after replacement of these devices, the firmware version
of the new device will be updated to the latest version. However, when
using in a VPC environment, the firmware version of the new device will be
matched to the firmware version of the VPC peer-device. Therefore, please
check the firmware version of the VPC peer-device before replacement.
