For Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) configurations, the Ethernet server 
adapter is equipped with one or two SFP+ (small form-factor pluggable) 
transceiver modules.

Installing SFP+ transceiver modules

Preparing the SFP+ transceiver module

Remove the SFP+ transceiver module from its protective packaging.

Ê

Remove the optical port plug from the new / additional SFP+ transceiver 
module.

CAUTION!

– Always keep the protective port plugs attached to the transceiver 

optical bores and fiber-optic cable connectors until you are ready 
to make a connection.

– Save the protective port plug for future use.
