Appendix G:
Setting up an Alert Button
An alert button can be configured on the CB6000 for use with the FrontRow Conductor System. When the button is
pressed, the Conductor Notifier application will display a window with information about the alert. For more information,
see the Conductor Setup and User Guides.
1. Create an Action for the alert
Alerts are best sent via an ezRoom installed in a classroom which will typically have location information from
Conductor (the header in the alert message will contain the Device Name used in Conductor).
a.
Give the Action a description
b.
Enter the command text for the Action. This should be done using an HTP command to send an “alert”
message. Because it is best to associate an alert with a device supporting audio streaming, the IP address
of the ezRoom device (Smart Receiver, CM3000, CM800Si, etc.) should follow the “alert/” component.
For example:
#HTP[http://10.12.65.202/calypso/conductor/?/alert/10.12.65.153/Assistance%20needed];
Note:
•
The IP address following
http://
is the IP address of the Conductor server
•
The IP address following
/alert/
is the IP address of the device (Smart Receiver, CM3000, CM800Si, etc.) in
the ezRoom which will be named in Conductor
•
The alert message body follows
.../?/alert/<ip addr>/
•
Spaces in the message body are represented by %20
•
Macros can be used in place of IP addresses (for more on Macros, see Appendix A)
c.
Save the Action
d.
Create an
Event
and assign the Event to a button on the CB6000 (see Appendix A and Appendix B)
Alerts can also be sent directly from the CB6000 if used in a hallway or other location that does not have an ezRoom
installed. However the header of the message displayed in the Conductor Notifer will not contain any information
identifying a location other than the IP address of the sending device. In this case, in order to have the alert contain
easily readable information about where the alert is being triggered, add location information to the alert message
body using the example below:
#HTP[http://10.12.65.202/calypso/conductor/?/alert/Alert%20message%20with%20location];
Note:
•
The IP address following
http://
is the IP address of the Conductor server
•
The alert message body follows
.../?/alert/
•
Spaces in the message body are represented by
%20
•
Macros can be used in place of IP addresses (for more on Macros, see Appendix A)
