Timecode recording

The unit can be referenced to SMPTE/EBU timecode. SMPTE timecode is applied to countries
adopting the NTSC television system, while EBU timecode is applied to countries adopting the
PAL/SECAM system.

Two methods are available for recording timecode.

• Recording timecode together with audio simultaneously

When recording audio and timecode while creating a new file:
Use the

 [NEW FILE]

 mode.

When recording audio and timecode to an existing file:
Use the 

[INSERT]

 mode.

Selecting the recording mode

Two timecode sources to be recorded are available.

• Timecode generated by the internal timecode generator.

• External timecode received from the TIME CODE INPUT connector.

Selecting source timecode

<Note>

Timecode is recorded regardless of the track mode of audio file.
Recording timecode does not consume the recording space of a disk.
