4.9 Integrated Peripherals Features Setup

The parameters in this screen are for system designers, service personnel,

and technically competent users only. Do not reset these values unless you

understand the consequences of your changes.

Integrated Peripherals Features Setup

IDE HDD Block Mode (Disabled)

This allows your hard disk controller to use the fast block mode to transfer

data to and from your hard disk drive (HDD).

Enabled

IDE controller uses block mode.

Disabled

IDE controller uses standard mode.

Primary IDE Channel (Enabled)

The integrated peripheral controller contains an IDE interface with support for

IDE channel. Select Enabled to activate this channel.

Master / Slave Drive PIO Mode (Auto)

These four fields allow you to set PIO mode for each IDE device according

to their different mode timing. Modes 0 through 4 provide successively

increased performance. Choosing “Auto” mode will enable auto-detection to

ensure optimal performance.
