FLY FUSION™ PENTOP COMPUTER USER MANUAL
3
Start making your cards by drawing a line down the middle of the page. This line separates the
main words from the keywords.
4
Add your fi rst main word by writing it at the top of the page, on the left side of the line.
Remember, each main word can contain up to six words or numbers.
5
Double tap next to the main word when you are done. The FLY Fusion Pentop Computer repeats
your main word back to you. Cross it out and rewrite it if the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer gets it
wrong (see
Correcting a Main Word or Keyword
for how to do that).
6
Write up to six keywords for the entry on the right side of the line, in line with the main word.
Double tap next to the keywords when you are done. The FLY Fusion Pentop Computer repeats
your keywords back to you. Again, cross it out and rewrite it if the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer
gets one wrong.
7
Repeat steps 4–6 on down the page until all your main words and their related keywords
are fi nished.
8
After the last one, you’re all done, and you can get started on the Pop Quiz!
CORRECTING A MAIN WORD OR KEYWORD
Sometimes the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer can’t read what you wrote down. Maybe it was a little
messy. Maybe the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer was dozing off. Let’s not point fi ngers; let’s just fi x it,
OK?
To correct a main word or keyword:
1
Strikethrough the words that need to
be fi xed.
2
To delete the words, just double tap
near them.
3
To replace the words, just write the
new words.
HANDLING HOMOGRAPHS
Homographs—words that are spelled the same but pronounced differently, like
live
or
read
—can be
confusing. Pop Quiz, however, has an easy way to deal with them.
If you follow the steps below and still hear only one pronunciation, your word might not be a homo-
graph—double check it to make sure.
To choose the right pronunciation for a homograph:
1
Tap and hold the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer down on the homograph. You’ll hear a tone—that
means you are in the homograph menu.
2
Tap the word to scroll through the pronunciation options.
3
When you hear the correct pronunciation, stop tapping and wait a second, or tap Enter
ENTER
.
Listen to the word as it is read back to make sure it’s correct, and repeat steps 1–2 if you need to.
After your fl ash cards are done, you can take a quiz to see just how well that brain of yours is working.
Strikethrough a word and rewrite it if you make
a mistake, or if the FLY Fusion Pentop Computer
mispronounces it.
