2.6 Repair and Calibration
Replacing and re-fitting TCU modules. This section provides information to remove and
re-fit modules.
2.6.1
Gimbal Mount / Dismount from Aircraft
Removal:
1) Disconnects the cables contacts.
2) Dismount the two sliced Rain covers that are attached with screws (M4).
3) Unscrew the 4 fixing bolt (AN4).
4) The system will be hanging on two quick connect bolts.
5) Twist the Gimbal anti clockwise to release system from quick connector plate of
aircraft.
6) Lower the Gimbal and place it on a clean surface.
7) Before performing any type of maintenance on the Gimbal, the TCU must be
cleaned.
Refitting:
1) Refit in the reverse order as described above making sure original alignment is
maintained.
2) Use torque limits recommended for installation. (See §2.7.3)
3) The 4 fixing bolts (AN4) are locked by self-locking threads when attached to any FLIR
System Polytech AB manufactured Belly Mount.
