1.6.2
CORRELATION
The CORRELATION tracking algorithm is best suited to situations where detail and
features are clearly visible in the image. Selective tracking of targets is possible by
setting the appropriate gate size. Gate size is adjustable in this mode and Aim point
refinement and COAST are both active. CORRELATION can be entered at any time by
cycling sequentially through the available modes.
1.6.3
CENTROID
Centroid tracking is used for tracking bounded objects such as an aircraft, which can be
fully contained within the track window
1.6.4
SCENE LOCK
The SCENE LOCK tracking algorithm uses the whole image area for tracking and is
suited to situations where features are clearly visible and the area of interest fills a large
area of the screen. SCENE LOCK can be entered at any time by cycling sequentially
through the available modes. Aimpoint refinement and COAST are both active in this
mode.
1.6.5
AIMPOINT REFINEMENT
Aimpoint
refinement shall allow the operator to “nudge” the tracking aim point in order to
dynamically fine tune the tracking process using the system joystick. For example, if the
tracker is locked onto the funnel of a ship the operator can use the joystick to move the
tracking aim point smoothly to another area such as the bow.
