The transducer damping mats are mounted lengthwise on the pipe. The pipe damping mats can be mounted on the pipe
lengthwise or crosswise. In the example, they are mounted lengthwise.
Number of damping mats
The damping mats are mounted on the entire pipe circumference.
pipe circumference: 2πr = 315 mm
The number of mounted damping mats is 315 mm/50 mm = 6.3.
6 damping mats (1010 mm × 50 mm) + 1 damping mat (1010 mm × 15 mm)
The damping mats can be cut into smaller pieces to make mounting easier.
