Rough Estimation of the
Coupling Size by Means of
the Service Factor
For the service factors empirical values were taken
as a basis which generally assess the performance
of input and output combinations in service. Predo-
minant periodic excitation of the plant or starting
and braking of large masses require a design
according to DIN 740/2 or vibration calculations
which can also be ordered from us.
When selecting the size of a coupling, the service
factor f

of table 6.II depending on the specific load
classification symbol of table 6.I must be allowed
for. This service factor is valid for up to
25 starts per
hour
. For up to 120 starts per hour, the service fac-
tor is to be increased by 0.75. For more frequent
starting, please refer to us.
