Continuous protection measures must be designed to protect against threats from outside,
i.e. from the network connecting the system to the WAN (Wide Area Network) and the LAN
(Local Area Network).
It is mandatory to secure the system externally, via the WAN, using a firewall. If no firewall is
activated, there is a considerable security risk.
In the standard case, the system is connected via VPN software, which uses a VPN server
destination address with a fixed destination port (port 443 is used for SSL HTTPS commu-
nication).
Specifically, this refers to a transport encryption with a TLSv1.3/
TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 encryption.
Connection via IPSec is also possible.

Ensure that the entire CMS for the DX site server has the ability to obtain current operating
system updates – WSUS (Windows Software Update Service). This should be provided in-
ternally or access to it granted externally.
The CMS system with the DX site server also already has antivirus software. For this, too,
you must provide the possibility for the antivirus software to download the latest virus signa-
tures.
Access data of the DX site server should only be passed on to authorised persons.
Only use the DX site server in accordance with its intended use.
The CMS is already secured at the factory and the software is up to date. Applications, ser-
vices, interfaces and ports that are not required are closed or deactivated.
