TO LIGHT PILOT
• Operate at arms length.
• Do not lean over the appliance.
• Use safety-goggles and a extended torch.
Make sure gas valve control knob on appli-
ance is in the
OFF
or CLOSED position.
Turn ‘plain view’ emergency shut-off valve to
ON
or
OPEN
position.
Locate pilot sighting tube inside firebowl.
Turn gas valve control knob on appliance to
LOW position.
Push red button for pilot and hold.
Immediately put torch inside pilot sighting
tube and ignite pilot.
Continue to hold down button for 30 seconds
or until pilot stays lit.
Release button and remove torch from sight-
ing tube. Make sure pilot stays lit.
Turn gas valve control knob on appliance
slowly to HIGH position.
Adjust flame height to preference.
If burner does not light or you smell or hear
gas, immediately turn gas valve control knob
on appliance to OFF position. Wait 5 minutes
and repeat steps B to F.
