4.5.7 Installing the cover strip
Cutting the new cover strip to length
• If the cover strip is to be replaced, cut the new cover strip to the total length
of the toothed belt axis X - 2 mm.

Installing and tensioning the cover strip
• Insert the cover strip into a clamp piece at one end of the toothed belt axis.
• Align the cover strip so that there is a gap of approx. 1 mm from the edge of
the drive block.
• Clamp the cover strip by tightening the threaded pins using the appropriate
torque (see table).

DGE-25 2.0 Nm ± 10 %
DGE-40 2.0 Nm ± 10 %
DGE-63 3.0 Nm ± 10 %
• Place the cover strip in the recess of the piston and guide it into the clamp
piece at the other end of the toothed belt axis.
Note
The cover strip must be replaced if it is kinked.
• In the case of axes without slide, insert the locking pin into the piston.
• Apply grease to the scrapers (see section 5.1 “Cleaning and lubricating the
toothed belt axis” ).
• Insert the adapter with the scrapers and springs into the piston.
