Recommendation: Assign the module addresses in an ascending
order for peripheral modules of the same type.
The central control unit and peripheral modules are connected via an internal bus.
Peripheral modules of the same type are differentiated by the module addresses. The
module address can be set with an address selector switch on the peripheral module
(see section 2.2.1). The standard device configuration for the multi-axis control system
CMXR is shown in the following figure:

2.2.1 Fitting and removing optional modules
Caution
Damage to components!
Switch off the operating voltage supply for the central module
before inserting or disconnecting optional modules.
Caution
Sub-assemblies and modules may be damaged if they are not
handled correctly.
Do not touch any components.
Observe the handling specifications for electrostatically
sensitive devices.
To protect the modules against discharges of static electricity:
Discharge yourself of static electricity before fitting or removing
the modules.
