Finish of smoke extractor
The smoke extractor flue must be in good condition, clean, with no pronounced changes
in direction and designed to
withstand temperatures in the region of 500°C
. In most
cases, it will be necessary to condition a new smoke extractor in accordance with the
requirements set out here and in the relevant regulation.
The
minimum section of the smoke extractor pipe must be equal or greater to the
extractor of the device
, nevertheless, a section that is too generous may also cause
problems. Similarly,
even though it is not the ideal situation, it allows changes in
the geometry of the section, from circular to squared, provided that the area is
maintained
and the change from one geometric shape to another is sealed and free
from potential obstructions.
If you use an existing manufactured chimney we strongly
recommend that you entube the entire smoke flue
to the top of the stack.
The
minimum height of the smoke flue is 5 metres
, with a
two changes of direction of up to 45°
permitted up to that height. For
pipe of up to 5 metres in height, these changes of direction are limited to 20°. For significant heights We recommend that you install
a gate to facilitate the sweeping.
In any case, the
depression at the base of the pipe should be 10-14 Pa
, which means it is necessary to install an adapted shoot
regulator.
The final section of the smoke extractor should be finished in accordance with standard
UNE 123001
,
which establishes that the
final section must be placed 1 metre above the highest point of the roof located within a radius of less than 10 m
. With re-
spect to the chimney stack, it must be built in such a manner that prevent the entry of rain or snow to the extractor flue, or any other
foreign body such as birds or animals.
We recommended that you do not install any metal mesh or similar anti-bird device
as it may obstruct the flow of smoke, and
in the event of doing so, the mesh should be of sufficient size (in the region of 3 cm in diameter).

Components of device
(1) Air vent handle:
pull outwards to open the air vent, creating a livelier flame and greater
consumption of the wood. In normal functioning conditions, the air intake should remain semi-
open (30%), while it is necessary to open it completely for ten to fifteen minutes after lighting.
(2) Glass air handle:
pull outwards to open the air vent for the glass, which constitutes the
“clean glass” system. Under normal conditions, the device must run with the glass air vent
completely open.
(3) Ash pan:
the device is fitted with an ash pan drawer at the bottom, which must me emptied
and cleaned periodically. This task must be carried out with the device out and cold, checking
that the
ashes/embers disposed of are not warm
and there is no possible risk of fire. The
device must never run without the ash pan in place or with the ash pan full.
(4) Thermometer:
indicates the interior temperature of the oven.
