PUTTING INTO SERVICE
1.
Take the carrying system 03 out of the case 11.
2.
Take the pruning shears 12 out of the case 11.
3.
For starting up the FELCO 882, please refer to the
FELCO 882-NP user guide provided in the case 11.
CAUTION
When you first put your pruning shears 12 into service, if you
attempt to work with them without first charging the battery 06a or
06b, the pruning shears will not work. Please refer to the user guide
of FELCO 882-NP for the correct procedure.
USE
Please refer to the description of the tool on page 3 and the
procedure A on page 4.
1.
Connect the pruning shears 12 to the power cord 02.
2.
Grasp the pruning shears 12, set the switch 05 to the On
position.
3.
Press the trigger 13 once; the blade 14 will open. (The
opening and closing of the blade 14 are proportional with the
movement of the finger).
4.
To switch your pruning shears 12 off, close the blade 14 with
the trigger 13, maintain the trigger depressed to keep the
blade closed and set the switch 05 to the Off position. You
can also switch the pruning shears off temporarily using the
Holster mode (please refer to the FELCO 882-NP user
guide).
NOTES
•
In order to save the power supplied by the battery 06a or
06b and thus maximize the operating time of the pruning
shears 12, users are advised to use the semi-open option,
which can be set to 50%, 60% or 70%, using the FELCO
application (download from the App Store or Google Play).
(Please refer to the FELCO 882-NP user guide). That
option saves time while pruning smaller diameters. The
semi-open option is enabled and pre-set at the factory, but
can be modified or turned off as required using the FELCO
application.
•
If the wood is too thick, the pruning shears 12 will stop in
the closing direction. Only opening remains possible.
FELCO recommends the use of a platform while working
at heights or the 1 m and 1.5 m FELCO extension poles,
880/100-100 and 880/100-150, available as accessories.
THE BLADE MUST FIRST BE SHARPENED AND ADJUSTED
AFTER THE FIRST HALF HOUR OF USE
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
•
Forcing the trigger 13 does not help pruning; on the
contrary, you might twist or break it and block the pruning
shears 12.
•
Do not move the pruning shears 12 sideways while cutting
a branch. If you do not follow this instruction, you could
damage the cutting head.
•
You need to take all every precaution to make sure that
the power cord 02 of the pruning shears does not get
caught in the branches. To that end, route the cord 02
over the shoulder and not at the waist. However, if you
want to route the cord at the waist, attach the cord 02 to
the arm with an armband (part No. 800/301 available as
an option from your authorized dealer) or route it through
your sleeve.
•
The battery life and the life of the pruning shears 12 can
heavily depend on the sharpness and adjustment of the
blade 14 and the counter blade 15. These points must be
kept in mind at all times (see sections SHARPENING,
ADJUSTING THE BLADE AND ANVIL BLADE and
MISCELLANEOUS MAINTENANCE).
•
In cold or wet conditions, protect the carrying system by
keeping it under your raincoat and out of the wet
environment.
•
To minimize tool exposure to vibrations, it is advisable to
pay particular attention to its maintenance and regular
sharpening.
CAUTION
During intensive or heavy-duty cutting, the body of the pruning
shears 12 may heat up. In order to avoid the risk of damaging the
tool, slow down the speed or intensity of cutting. If the tool
overheats, the regulating circuitry reduces the power of the pruning
