Required Patches for Solaris
The Solaris operating environment may require patches for the Ridgeline software to function properly.
Make certain these patches have been installed before you install the Ridgeline server software.

Setting the Run Level for Linux
On Linux systems, in order for the Ridgeline database and server components to start automatically at
system boot, the run level on the server must be set to 5.
Installing the Ridgeline Server
To install the Ridgeline server, complete the following steps:

Download the Ridgeline software from the Extreme Networks eSupport software download page.

Extract the contents of the zip or tar file into a temporary directory, if necessary. For information
about downloading the software, refer to
Chapter 2, “Downloading Ridgeline Software.”

To start the installation wizard, launch the Ridgeline installer executable that you downloaded.
