INTRODUCTION
This range of air-water heat pumps meets the needs of hot water production for domestic use and similar applications .
It requires connection to a domestic water supply system and electrical connection .
The air flow used as a heat source can be ducted in round pipes or the same air can be drawn directly and conveyed
into the place where the unit is installed .
The units are suitable for installation inside a covered place .
SOL models can manage an external solar system connected to the coil inside the storage tank .
USE
These units are designed only for the production of hot water for sanitary purposes . Any other use is improper; in
particular, use of the unit in industrial cycles and/or installation in places with corrosive or explosive atmospheres is
not allowed . The manufacturer can not be held liable for any damage due to incorrect installation, improper use, not
reasonably foreseeable conduct, or inadequate or incomplete application of the instructions given in this handbook .
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
The air-water heat pump does not use electric energy to heat the water directly, like a heating element, but obtains
the same result in a more efficient way by means of a cooling circuit whose operation is described below:
• The refrigerant fluid contained inside the sealed circuit changes state in the heat exchanger placed directly in
contact with air, drawing heat from the same .
• The compressor sucks the refrigerant fluid and raises the energy level of the heat drawn: in fact, increasing its
pressure, the refrigerant fluid reaches temperatures able to heat the water in the storage tank.
• The fluid condenses in the coil would around the tank, transferring the heat to the tank. The heat transferred is the
sum of the energy taken from the air and the energy used to compress the refrigerant . The storage tank allows the
heat to be retained for a long time thanks to the insulating shell .
• Going through an expansion part, the fluid returns to low pressure, cooling and becoming ready to absorb more
heat from the air .
