8•2 FILLING WITH FUEL
Read the manufacturer’s instructions for use.
DANGER!
Switch off the engine and allow to cool. The machine must be protected against accidental starting. Under certain
conditions, petrol is highly flammable and explosive. Only fill up with petrol in a well aired place when the engine is stopped. When
filling with petrol and in places where fuel is stored, do not smoke and keep away all naked flames or sparks. Do not allow the tank to
overflow. There must be no fuel in the filler neck. After filling up, ensure that the tank cap is securely closed. Do not spill fuel when
filling up. Vapours from spilt petrol or fuel can catch fire. If petrol is spilled, it is essential to ensure that the place is completely dried
before starting the engine and that petrol vapour has evaporated. Avoid any repeated or prolonged contact with the skin and breathing
the vapour. KEEP PETROL OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
IMPORTANT!
Use car petrol. Never use mixtures of oil and petrol or dirty petrol.
8• MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
• Use internal combustion engines only in well ventilated areas! The
exhaust gases contain toxic carbon monoxide. Comply with the regu-
lations in force in the workplaces!
• Welding, oxycutting or grinding may only be carried out on the ma-
chine with express authorisation (risk of fire or explosion)!
• Before doing any welding, oxycutting or grinding, remove dust and
flammable materials from the machine or its surroundings and make
sure there is sufficient aeration (explosion risk)!
• Regularly check all the pipes, hoses and screw connectors for leaks
and damage visible from the outside! Remedy defects immediately!
Oil projections can cause injury or fire.
• The acoustic insulation must remain on the machine while in use.
Also, wear ear defenders.
• Comply with the safety regulations in force for the product when
handling oils, greases or other chemicals!
• Make sure all nuts, bolts and screws are tightened to ensure that the
machine is in a safe functional state.
• Never store a machine with petrol in the tank in a building where
petrol vapour could come into contact with flames or sparks.
• Allow the engine to cool before storing the machine in an enlosed
place.
•
To avoid any risk of fire, keep the engine, the exhaust, the battery
compartment and the area around the fuel tank free of grass, straw,
moss, leaves or grease traces.
• Regularly check the collecting device for any signs of wear or da-
maged parts.
• Regularly check the machine and in the interests of safety replace any
damaged parts.
• If the fuel tank is to be emptied, do it in the open air. Recovered fuel
must be stored in a special container and disposed of in compliance
with the regulations.
IMPORTANT!
Remember to:
• eliminate any oil or fuel leaks
• check that screws and nuts are secure and tighten if necessary
• check that parts can move freely and grease if necessary
1) Fuel tank on Honda GX engine.
2) Hold the can as shown in the illustration. Only pour
a small quantity at a time and check the filling level.
