2. Can’t connect via Remote Desktop Connection over the internet:
and you can’t use Remote Desktop Connection to access the internal laptop on the Smart Gateway, check
that the “Remote Desktop Connection Port Forwarding Rule” is properly configured on the CRADLEPOINT
router.
The steps below illustrate how to check the Port Forward Rule in the Cradlepoint.
Option 1 Login to the Smart Gateway Cradlepoint from within the EPAERT1 Wifi network:

Connect a laptop of mobile device to the EPAERT1 network

Open a browser and type 192.168.4.1 to access the Cradlepoint Router


Option 2 Login to the Smart Gateway Cradlepoint over the internet:

To access the Cradlepoint Gateway over the internet, the Smart Gateway must have internet access
(working SIM Card, etc)

From a laptop or mobile device, open a browser and type EPAERTxxx.safeenv2.com:8080 to
access the Cradlepoint Router


Check the Cradlepoint Port Forward Rule

Navigate to ‘Security – Port Forward & Proxy’

The Internet Port should be ‘7000’. If it is not, edit the Internet Port and change it. Click Save.
