Basic Operations

Using a Test Pattern

1. Confirm that the media has been pulled to the prescribed position.

Correct adjustment may not be possible if the media is not pulled sufficiently. See
“Loading and Exchanging Media” on page 30.

2. After confirming that the printer is ready to print, press the

Menu

button.

The settings menu will be displayed.

3. Select

Media Setup

and press the

button.

4. Use the

buttons to select

Customize Settings

and press the

button.

5. Use the

buttons to select a media setting bank number between 1 and 30 and then

press the

button.

Note that any settings already saved in the printer will be overwritten.

6. Use the

buttons to select

Feed Adjustment

and press the

button.

7. Select

Manual

and press the

button.

8. Use the

buttons to select a test pattern and press the

button twice.

The longer the pattern, the more accurate the adjustment.

9. The printer will print a test pattern.

When printing is complete, the media will automatically be fed to a position where the
pattern is clearly visible.
