Troubleshooting Unit Level Troubleshooting 72
Printing operation is carried out normally.
However, the top margin is smaller than
usual. - LD Roller Unit 1. Check to see if paper dust is adhering to the surface of the
LD Roller.
1. Set a cleaning sheet in the ASF up side down.
Then holding the top edge, try to load the paper
from the Printer driver. The micro pearl on the LD
Roller surface is removed. To remove severe
smear, staple a cloth moistened with alcohol to a
post card and clean the roller in the same manner.
For setting of the cleaning sheet, see “Check
Points for Paper Out Error”
(p.64)
*If the problem is not solved, replace the LD
Roller with a new one.
Printing is blurred Printer driver and
exclusive paper
1. Check to see if the suitable paper is used according to the
printer driver setting.
1. Use the suitable paper according to the driver
setting.
Print Head 1. Check to see if the correct head ID is stored in the EEPROM by
using the Adjustment program.
1. Input 13 digits code of the head ID into the
EEPROM by using the Adjustment program.
Paper is stained with ink. Front Frame 1. Check to see if the Front Frame is stained with ink. 1. With a soft cloth, wipe the ink stains off the
Front Frame.
1. Check to see if the Front Frame is deformed. 1. Replace the Front Frame with a new one.
Housing Lower
Covers
1. Check to see if Housing Lower Covers are stained with ink. 1. With a soft cloth, wipe the ink stains off the
Housing Lower Covers carefully.
Paper Eject
Roller
1. Check to see if the Paper Eject Roller is stained with ink. 1. With a soft cloth, wipe the ink stains off the
Paper Eject Roller carefully.
Paper Guide Top 1. Check to see if some surface on the Paper Guide Top is
stained with ink.
1. With a soft cloth, wipe the ink stains off the
Paper Guide Top carefully.
PF Roller 1. Check to see if some surface on the PF Roller is stained with
ink.
1. With a soft cloth, wipe the ink stains off the PF
Roller carefully.
Pump Unit 1. Check to see if wiping operation is not carried out properly. 1. Replace the Pump Unit with a new one.
Top end of paper is wrinkled. ASF Unit 1. Check to see if the Hopper Pad has been affixed to the
Hopper properly.
2. Check to see if the LD Pad has been affixed to the paper
return surface properly.
1. Replace the Hopper pad with a new one.
2. Replace the LD pad with a new one.
