6687 Monitor
Configuration
This section describes how you configure the 6687. The 6600 Series protection monitors are
easy to configure. All the controls to configure a 6600 monitor are on the front panel of the
monitor. The 6687 has two levels of configuration:
z
User menu – This menu allows you to set the date and time, set the Alert and Danger
alarm setpoints, inhibit the Danger alarm relays, and set the cold case position.
z
Factory menu – This allows you to configure all the other parameters, including
MODBUS communications, transducer input, display scaling, transducer normal OK
limits, alarm relay operation, and number of channels.
General Configuration Instructions
All the configuration menus function in the same way. In short, the steps are:
1.
Press and hold two buttons to display the desired menu.
z
For the User menu, press and hold the two Arrow buttons until the menu appears.
z
For the Factory menu, press and hold the Down Arrow and SEL buttons until the
menu appears.

Use the Arrow buttons to highlight the desired option.
3.
Press the SEL button to display the screen where you change the value for the option.
4.
Use the Arrow buttons to change the value.
5.
Press the SEL button to return to the menu. For both the User and Factory menus, the
monitor remembers any changes you make, but does not write them to memory until
you exit the User or Factory menu.
Note: If the current value does not change when you press the Arrow buttons (step 4), then the
monitor is protected by the link security feature. Contact your Supervisor for assistance. For
more information on the link security feature, refer to the manual on 6600 monitor
installation, or contact Entek IRD Customer Support.
Below is an example of these steps, describing the process to change the Alert setpoint for
channel 1 of the monitor. You use similar steps to change the value for any of the options in
a menu.
1.
Press and hold the two Arrow buttons to display the User menu. Note that the first
option of the menu is highlighted. This means it appears in green text on a black
background (inverse video) on the monitor display.
Use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow button to move the highlight to ALARMS. Press
the SEL button to select the ALARMS option.
