Conduct the standard Hovermap-Zoe checks, including:
Check that the controller, tablet, and drone batteries are fully charged.
Check that the propellers are undamaged and are mounted correctly.
Check that the takeoff area is of adequate size and clear of obstacles. For Zoe, this area should
be 3 m horizontal and 2 m vertical.
Position Zoe so that it is level and facing away from you.
4.3.3.2 Step 2: Powering on
Power on the controller and wait for the tablet to boot up.
When prompted, open the Hovermap App on the tablet.
Press only once (USB permissions).
Power on the Zoe. The green battery lights should light up.
A compass and IMU calibration should be conducted at least once every three months. In
addition, you should calibrate the compass if prompted by the Hovermap App, if the system has
traveled to a new location, or if operating in an environment that may be prone to magnetic
interference. Follow the procedure outlined in the
Standard Operating Procedures section.
Press the power button once on the back of the unit to turn on Hovermap. While booting/
initializing, the status LED will flash red, then light blue, then orange, and finally a slow, pulsing
blue.
Note
These figures are a minimum and pilot capabilities must be considered.

Warning
If using the Samsung tablet, ensure that it is connected to the controller using the
supplied USB-A to USB-C cable. This ensures that Hovermap-Zoe data is shown in
the Hovermap App.

