ems controllers then update the self-learning matrix depending on how much activity is detected in each 30 minute period
as follows:

if the ems controller detects activity during a 30 minute period, the ems controller changes the state from monitor (1) to ready (2)
l
if the ems controller does not detect activity, the ems controllers changes the state from monitor (1) to
saving (0).
Note:

The amount of activity required to change the state from monitor (1) to ready (2)depends on the setting of the activity frequency (
AF
) para-
meter.
Therefore, at the end of day 1 (first 24 hours), the ems controller has set all the 30 minutes to ready (2) or saving (0) depend-
ing the outlet activity pattern as shown in the following example matrix:
The ems controller then continues to run in the
ready mode
for the remainder of the 7 day learning period whilst updating
the self-learning matrix.
At the end of the 7 day learning period, the ems controller has a complete self-learning matrix as shown in the following
example matrix:
