a size 17 spanner. The belt must be removed from the belt pul-
ley in order to be able to slide the wheels from the axles. It is
recommended to remove the protective cover to this effect.
• On removal of the wheels, beware not to lose the nylon ring that
is located between the hub and the chassis.
• The ball bearings mounted by ELIET are usually equipped with
sealing rings to keep dust out. These seals are never perfect.
In order to extend the machine’s life expectancy, the user must
take particular care here.
• Spray a little MoS2 penetrating oil on the bearings and, in particular, on the bearing bush
seams. Leave it to settle.
• Use a dust cloth to remove all the dirt that has accumulated around the bearing seams.
• Spray more penetrating oil into the seams of the bearing seals so that the oil can penetrate
the bearings.
• All excess spray should be removed.
• Finally, spray Novatio White Supreme Grease into the seams of the bearing seals.
• With the protective covers removed from the machine, you can take the opportunity to also
lubricate the rolls of the belt tensioners.
• Follow the same procedure as described above.
• Make sure that the penetrating oil or lubricant does not end up on the belt or in its immediate
vicinity. This could make the belt slip, which would lead to increased wear.
• The wheel bearings consist of roller bearings. The rollers rotate on the wheel axles. To limit
wear of the rollers and to reduce the noise of these bearings, apply some grease to them.
Using a brush, apply some Sunoco multipurpose grease to the shaft ends. Now replace the
wheels into their original position.
• After replacement of the belt onto the belt pulleys, make sure that they follow the same
rotation path as before removal. The belt tensioners run on the outside of the belt.
B. Hinge point lubrication
Hinges can be found in these locations:
The pivot point of belt tensioner.
The pivot point of the swivel caster.
The ball joint of the operating rod controlling the driving speed.
• The hinge of the belt tensioner is also located behind the protective cover of the wheel drive.
• Start by spraying some penetrating oil into this hinge. Allow it to sit for a while.
• Now wipe away old lubricant with a cloth or paper tissue.
• Once the hinges have been cleaned, spray them with Novatio White Supreme Grease.
• Give the ball joint at the bottom of the speed operating rod of the hydrostatic transmission box
the same treatment.
• A grease nipple has been provided for lubricating the hinge of the swivel caster.
