If the wheel drive loses traction power, this points to insufficient belt tension when tightening the
traction handles.
• The tension on the tension belt is easily adjustable by adjusting the
length of the cable guide. To increase the belt tension, the cable
guide can be extended by loosening the set bolt at the end. Each
cable has two of these set bolts. One is located near the traction
handles; another close to the belt tensioner, hidden behind the
protective cover.
• If these set bolts cannot be adjusted sufficiently to build adequate
belt tension, then the cable must be shortened.
• To do this, turn the clamping shoe at the bottom of the cable. The
belt tension can be tightened by placing the shoe a little higher on
the cable. Don’t forget to tighten the shoe once in it’s in position.
11.4.6 Checking the tyre pressure
• Driving with the wrong tyre pressure requires increased power. In addition, it enhances resist-
ance, which in turn affects transmission
• So, for the sake of proper traction and to ensure that the tyres do not get in contact with the
screening guards of the wheel drive, ELIET recommends regular checking of the tyre pressure.
• Under optimal circumstances, the tyre pressure is 1.9 kg.
• Optimum tyre pressure will increase the machine’s manoeuvrability.
11.5 Maintenance after 20 operating hours
11.5.1 Changing the engine oil
• Ensure the engine is resting on a level surface and is switched OFF.
• Locate the plug screwed into the crankcase at the rear of the engine at the bottom of the
engine base. (See the engine manual).
• Keep a 1 litre recepticle nearby before unscrewing the plug.
• Allow all of the oil (approx. 0.75 litres) to drain from the engine.
• Refit and tighten the plug into the drain. Use a clean cloth to wipe away any spilt oil.
• Refill the engine with new four-stroke oil. For this purpose ELIET recommends a top quality oil
