Refitting an old or replacing a new spark plug should be performed with the
greatest care in order to avoid damaging the screw thread in the motor.Torque
the spark plug to 20 Nm.
11.5.3 Changing the air filter
This action is completely identical to cleaning the air filter (see §11.4.3 Cleaning the air filter).
• A new air filter of the correct type is available from your ELIET dealer or from a service centre
approved for this type of engine.
11.5.4 Adjusting the belt tension
Caution:
The engine should always be switched off and the spark plug cap should be
disconnected when adjusting the belt tension.
• To control the tension from the driving belt to the hydrostatic
driving casing, one must place shims under the engine support.
• To do so, loosen the four fastening bolts (M8) from the engine
support (size 13 spanner).
• Before loosening the engine, use a felt pen to mark the front of
the engine support. This is important for aligning the belt and
will save you a great deal of work. If you skip this step, you will
have to detach the entire turbine to align the belt pulley.
• Placement of the shims must be done one side at a time. Undo
the bolts on one side, place the shims and replace the bolts.
Now do the same on the other side. Finish the procedure by
tightening the bolts.
• Before tightening the bolts, place the engine level with the felt
pen marking applied at the beginning. This ensures that the
alignment is back in its original position.
