This control area displays the ID number of the welding program (in the
memory index) the machine is currently set to perform. In addition to this
number, the display shows the name associated with this program, which
generally corresponds to the type of metal requiring welding.
When pressed, this control area allows the operator to change the name of
the program (Fig. 8-6) and save it in the desired position (in the memory
index).
