Ñ
Mains connection and wiring
All terminals should be kept as short as possible. The PE conductor must be laid to the grounding bar of the housing. A
connection is already created between the grounding bar and the PE in the factory.
The device must be configured to permit isolation from the supply circuit by means of an easily accessible isolating
device.
Ò
Potentiometer PO 1
Using PO 1, the output voltage for the locking element can be adjusted. This may become possible in cases where, due to the
greater conductor lengths between the control unit and locking element, appreciable conductor losses occur. The voltage may
have to be adjusted in such cases so that 24 Volts are applied to the locking element when activated.
Ó
Potentiometer PO 2
PO 2 is used to set the battery charge voltage. This is set precisely in the factory for each device.
PO 2 may not be adjusted under any circumstances!
Ô
Batteries 12 V, 2 Ah
The device can also be operated without batteries. However, when batteries are connected, only the 12 V, 2 Ah lead batteries
offered by effeff under the order number 18002 may be used.
The batteries are installed in the compartment in front of the terminals on the floor of the housing.
The batteries must be checked at regular intervals by operating in the emergency power mode for 15 minutes. After switching
the mains power supply back on, the control unit must assume operating status I in accordance with Table 4. If the display fails
to change within three seconds to operating status II or I, the device must be briefly isolated from the mains supply and
switched back on. After this, operating status II or I must be reached again within 10 minutes. If this fails to happen, the
connected batteries are defective.

Grounding bar in the housing
In the housing directly under the cable inlet and firmly connected to the cable fixing web is the grounding bar. This is already
connected to the PE terminal in the factory. The PE conductor of the mains supply cable must be laid to the second screw-type
terminal for the grounding bar.
The cable shields of all incoming cables must be laid to this grounding bar.
