*Higher noise and drift worsen identification and determination of height peak of analyte. This affect the
value of the detection limit (LOD) and quantitation limit (LOQ).
LOD is lowest identifiable amount of analyte that
gives the response S=3*N (S…peak height; N…noise).
LOQ is lowest quantifiable amount of analyte that gives the response S=10*N.

AINTENANCE
11.1. Cleaning and Decontamination
Use dry or slightly wetted cotton wiper for cleaning unit surface.
If the cell compartment is contaminated with a liquid from chromatographic process, read first
the safety instructions for used liquid and dry the compartment according to the safety instructions
for this liquid.
Before manipulating with the cell, turn off the lamp. Never touch the cell windows
or lens with bare fingers or with sharp or hard tools.
11.2. Control of Tubing and Cell Connection
Control all cell connections, tubing and cell windows, if they are not leaking, before starting
process. All leakages must be fixed. Check the cell windows for any impurities.
11.3. Lamp Control
Approximately once per three months (app. 200 operating hours) check the light energy of
the lamp according to chapter 6.6.8.1 , and check number of operating hours.
11.4. Operational Qualification
Operational qualification OQ, unit validation is recommended under difficult operating
conditions (lamp age bigger than 1000 operating hours, frequent contamination of the cell), every
6 months, 1 per year under not difficult operating conditions (optimal), at most once every 2 years.
When the instrument is validated, a complete check of the unit condition is carried out, its operation
is verified and the damaged parts are replaced according to the state.
