RJ45 interface CAN2 - High speed connection to the CAN bus

Warning - hazardous electrical voltage!

If mains voltage is connected to the CAN bus terminals,
this will result in the destruction of all components connected to the CAN bus!
Incorrect shielding of the CAN bus results in electromagnetic interference fields. It must be strictly
ensured during installation that the cables with shielding are correctly connected. The following cable
type must be used for the CAN bus cable: LIYCY 2x2x0.75 mm2 (twisted pair and shielded). 

Recommendation

:Use cable for fast CAN bus connection (order number KABHICAN2M):

The Combi-Gateway is connected to the CAN bus terminals of the store computer using the connection cable
(order number KABHICAN2M) at the RJ45 connector (CAN2 interface) on the front panel of the device.
 The COMBICON connector must be attached at the open end of the Y cable; 
the resistor (100 Ohm) must then be connected to terminals 3/4 of the connector.

The terminating resistor of the CAN2 interface 

must 

be set to 

ON

 using the DIP switch 

CAN Term 2

 

(see also Chapter 6.2.2). This type of connection only has to be taken into account for a high speed
CAN bus connection; the steps shown in Chapter 6.2.2 must be performed.

Connection via the RS232 interface (RJ45 socket) to the GLT 3010 (COMBICON) using cable set 
(Order number KABCOMSRV1).
