8.3.

ERROR MESSAGES:

➢

"SAFETY LOOP OPEN"

: the safety loop circuit is not closed, there is no connection be-

tween points 1-9 or 2-10 of the socket C5 located on the rear panel of the device. Press
OK to clear the message

➢

"OVER RANGE"

: the insulation resistance of the sample being tested is greater

than the measuring possibilities of the device

(> 2,000 TΩ) or of the measuring

range in manual mode.

➢

"UNDER RANGE"

: the insulation resistance of the sample being tested is less than the

measuring possibilities of the device (<

100 Ω) or of the measuring range in manual

mode.

➢

"CHARGING....

": the measurement voltage has not reached its final value. The voltage

generator charges the capacitor of the sample being tested. This message must appear
in a fleeting manner when switching to Measurement mode. If the message persists, this
means that the measurement voltage requested cannot be supplied to the resistance
measured.

Check with respect to the characteristics of the voltage generator.

➢

"VOLTAGE ERROR

": when a measurement time is defined, if during the test the mes-

sage

"CHARGING

…"

is constantly displayed, at the end of the measurement time the

test will be declared as FAIL and the

"VOLTAGE ERROR"

message will indicate the

cause of it.

If needed see the information on the message

"CHARGING

…"

IMPORTANT

The device is equipped with a thermal protection system. In case of pro-
longed use of the High Voltage generator on a short circuit, the protection
system will be activated.

In this case the message "

OVERHEAT

" will be displayed constantly on the

LCD screen.
Turn off the device and allow it to cool down for 10 minutes before using it
again.
